I Have Loved You
"I Have Loved You" is a stunning original painting that is sure to brighten your room and your mood every time you take it in.
This painting is packed with meaning. It is infused with song sheets that have themes of, “Jerusalem, My happy home,” and “Steal away with Jesus,” and, “We shall rise again,” and others about our eternal home with God as scripture describes it. The words on the right are in Hebrew and they say, “I have loved you.” (Isaiah 43) The loose handwriting on the left are to the effect of, “Long have I loved you, faithful I will remain.”
The leopard comes from the prophecy in Isaiah 11 when the Root of Jesse (Jesus) is reigning perfectly on the earth, “The leopard shall lie down with the young goat…They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord As the waters cover the sea. “And in that day there shall be a Root of Jesse, Who shall stand as a banner to the people; For the Gentiles shall seek Him, And His resting place shall be glorious.” There will only be peace when Jesus is reigning from Jerusalem, even the animals will have perfect peace again!
The lush greens speak of flourishing abundant life, beauty, a healthy garden. The white always represents purity. The burst of pink is also full of life, joy, hope, tender and healthy hearts responding in love. The words are a conversation between God and man expressing vows of love. My intention is to stir my heart (and hopefully yours) to love what HE loves and love Jacob, my older brother in the faith, to be fully restored to the Father, to see the full extent of these ancient prophecies fulfilled.
"Even though you have broken My Heart 1,000 ways, I still love you." I heard these words as I woke up one morning. The scripture that I'm reflecting on was directed to Israel, which the Lord often refers to as His wife, an unfaithful wife. From the new testament we can be certain the way the Lord relates to Israel is the same way He will relate to the rest of us who have chosen to belong to Him, but are so often like an unfaithful wife with wandering eyes.
The Lord is a jealous Husband, He won't passively allow His wife to share herself with another, or many others, He will make it right, even if that means afflicting her as we see is Ezekiel 16 and Hosea 2. But this affliction isn't to vent His anger, rather it is to woo her heart all over again in a place where all her distractions and other comforts have been removed so all she can see is Him.
Because, no matter how many times she is unfaithful, no matter how deeply His heart is broken, He will keep His vows to her. He can not stop loving her. He is ever chasing after her heart. He will not take it, He waits for her to give it, for it is far more precious to Him than all the wealth in the entire universe.
She is me, she is you, He's after you, and if you take time to know Him, you will see how worthy of radical, whole-hearted love He is.

I have this beauty obsession and it's by design. I am an artist who is a follower of Jesus and a lover of His Word. I create with Holy Spirit and trust Him to release healing of heart, mind, and body, and reveal light, truth and revelation of His beauty through my art (Psalm 19). Each painting comes with an individual prophetic word, Scripture or prayer to encourage your heart into the love of Jesus. My prayer is that you hear the whispers of God through my art. He speaks to us in so many ways!
I'm also compelled to create beauty when I behold the beauty all around that my Creator made, each facet a new expression of the beauty of God. I take in the simple joys and blessings here in this moment. When my soul is bursting with light I can't help but try to capture a fraction of it on canvas, if only to hold onto it a little bit longer and remember the goodness of God and the glorious wonder of who He is.
I have a bachelor's degree in Studio Art and minor degrees in art history and psychology as well as a master's degree in Art Therapy and I'm a life long student in God's word. He is my greatest source of inspiration.
